Qlabs · From one operator to another

I got tired of watching my teachers do paperwork instead of teaching — so I fixed it.

Not a software pitch. Not an app to learn. Just a quieter centre — and a no-obligation chat, operator to operator.

First, who I am

I’m not a vendor, and this isn’t a sales deck dressed up with grant percentages. I run an education business here in Singapore, and I’ve lived the same week you have — evaluations written from memory at 9pm, a brilliant teacher walking out the door with years of know-how in her head, fees that barely move while the admin pile only grows.

So over the last couple of years I built the fix — for myself, in my own centre. It works. This is me handing it to you.

The bit everyone misses

The reports your teachers break their evenings to write describe a day that already happened, right in front of everyone. They aren’t recording their day — they’re re-creating it from memory, hours later.

I stopped making mine do that. I found a way to turn what already happens in your rooms into the paperwork you already owe — no new habits for your teachers, nothing that changes how a lesson feels. How it works is the best part — and it’s easier to talk through than to write down.

What changes for your teachers

Their evenings, back

Evaluations drafted for them — structured into the eight domains, tied to the NEL framework, written from the real lesson instead of a foggy memory at 9pm.

A portfolio for every child — without the grind

For the youngest rooms, the tool writes up what your teacher observes — she stays the eyes, it takes the pen. The judgment stays human.

Parent updates, drafted and waiting

Weekly posts and polished PDFs, ready for your Principal to read and send. Nothing reaches a parent unseen.

Lesson prep in minutes, not evenings

Notes and worksheets formatted to your curriculum — your teachers start from nearly done.

One promise I won’t make: that any of this replaces a teacher’s eyes on a child. It doesn’t. All it removes is the writing-up — so the watching, the part only your teachers can do, is what they get their time back for.

What changes for your centre

  • Classrooms that fill. Freeing your teachers means nothing if the rooms stay empty — so the marketing you never had bandwidth for quietly works, so families looking for a centre like yours actually find you.
  • New teachers ready in weeks, not months. Your best practice becomes something a new hire can step straight into.
  • Your know-how stays yours. When a teacher leaves, your centre’s knowledge no longer leaves with her — it’s owned by the business.
  • Teachers who stay. When the 9pm paperwork stops, the reason good teachers burn out and leave goes with it — we expect higher retention, and fewer empty rooms waiting on a hire.
  • A calmer back office. The follow-ups, the reminders, the “did you send it yet” — handled, quietly.

Why a careful operator can trust this

I’d be sceptical too. So here’s the part I lead with, not the part I bury:

  • A human is always in charge. The tool drafts; your Principal approves. Nothing goes out on autopilot, ever.
  • Told to be honest, not agreeable. It flags what it didn’t see and never invents an observation to fill a gap.
  • Your data is yours alone. On a machine in your own office or a secure Singapore-hosted private cloud — never sold, never shared, never used to train anyone else’s system.
  • Consent and ECDA settled first, not later. Parental consent, where data lives, how long it’s kept — in writing, together, before anything is recorded.
  • It speaks how your teachers speak. English, Malay, Mandarin, Singlish — no formal-English pressure on anyone.
  • Nothing is set in stone. Every report is a draft your team can change before it counts.
  • Grant-ready. Built to fit SkillsFuture / Workforce Development funding — and structured so you’re not out of pocket up front.

Let’s start small

I won’t ask you to rip anything out or learn any software. We start at one centre, I learn how you actually work, and I show you results before you scale. One classroom, one term, real proof — then you decide. Most of this is grant-fundable, and I structure it so you’re not out of pocket up front, because I know month-end payroll doesn’t wait for a reimbursement.

If your teachers deserve their evenings back — let’s talk.

I’m not after a contract today. I’m taking on a small handful of centres this term, and all I’m asking for is a short, no-obligation conversation — one operator to another. If it’s not for you, we shake hands and that’s that.

I want to show you what can be achieved — and how I did it.
